![]() I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.I like good sound, so whatever I do to improve it, if I say it sounds good, then it does.Īs it is stock, it needs help.that's for sure. I reckon that'll make it acceptable but that sub is likely going to be a problem.you ain't got no bass, you got nothin'. This will give a boost to the audio and make your sound loud. Using this method, you can add an amplifier to the old audio setup of your car. This is the first method that we will use to make a connection. When I get my truck, I'll line the doors with Dynamat.because that makes the truck twice as quiet and improves even crappy speakers. There are almost three methods available to hook up your amplifier without using any RCA jacks. The options are either swapping out the whole system or adding this amp he mentioned above that's suppose to be "compatible" with Sync.and even then the results may be anemic because the speakers are of poor quality.even with the fancy name. You're certainly going to want someone that really knows their stuff to work on it.nothing really "plug and play" about it. I recommend connecting to speaker-level outputs using crimp connectors and a crimp tool for a reliable, solid connection. 4 channels from the amp to the radio’s factory speaker wiring. The sub box behind the seat is absolutely pathetic, so just putting a new speaker in it is useless.you've got to go full monty with this thing. Cut 7 more lengths of wire, for a total of 8: 4 channels (4 pairs of wire) going to the amp’s speaker level inputs. So, simple answer, it turns your amp on when the stereo. Hopefully DrDecay will come back, but in the meantime I've cruised around the net and it seems like "upgrading" the B&O system isn't as easy as one would hope.įirst off, the system is tied deep into the Sync system.so just replacing the sub isn't going to give you more bang for the buck unless you add an amplifier.and there is quite a bit of drama involved with that for it to work with what it's embedded with. If you are running an amp on a stock stereo, there are other ways to turn the amp on without a remote wire, but thats the easiest way. Do tell about that amp is you did it, please. So in short, I'll keep the stock system but replace the sub and line the doors.that should help considerably without spending thousands. This means, you just need to run the eight speaker wires from the dash to the amplifier, just like you do the RCA cables. For 4-speaker systems, you'd need to make eight connections a positive and negative wire for each speaker. It's located behind the rear seats and it's a lightweight piece of junk.saw a video on Youtube where the guy swapped out everything and when they pulled out the sub he was laughing, so was I. New speaker wires from the amp connect to the speaker wires in the stereo adapter harness. I can tell you for sure what I'll be doing to it immediately after it arrives.first, I'll have the door lined with Dynamat.I had that done to my '04 and it made a TREMENDOUS difference with the sound coming from the door speakers.also, I'll be swapping out the subwoofer that comes with this B&O system. If it works well, I'll do that to my truck as well. ![]() If you've already installed the amp, please come back in and give an update. I've got an absolutely incredible aftermarket sound system in my '04 F-150, but I'm really not looking forward to swapping everything out with the '21 F-350 Lariat I've got nsidering it already has so many speakers in it, what can be done to improve the sound without upgrading the whole system? Most likely I will upgrade the subs later.Looks like you haven't gotten any response, so I'll chime in. I prefer a clean hard hitting bass, where I feel sharp hits rather than hear the bass. However the bass isn't clean, it sounds a bit muffled, you can feel it a lot more than stock. ![]() and I can max them out if I turn up the bass. ![]() The subs hit a lot harder than stock, but the stock system is so bad that anything is a big upgrade. Even at these settings I still had to set most of the settings to low on the amp. ![]() At 16ohmz I believe the amp should put out 125 watts and I think its probably under rated. I hooked up the speakers in series which should be 15 ohmz since the amp is pretty powerful. There is hardly any bass coming from the subs at all, I think there is more bass in the doors. So today I installed a JL 500/1 slash.Īfter I took off the seats I realized that the bass in the stock system is really bad. I wanted to see how the stock subs would sound hooked up to an aftermarket subwoofer, before I went and bought new subs. ![]()
